History of the LWV-Billings Climate Action Committee

In 2017, the LWV-Billings Board approved forming a Climate Action Committee to see how the League could help reduce the effects of climate change. The board then approved forming a coalition with Yellowstone Valley Citizens Council and Eco-Angelas in order to find ways to reduce our city's effect on climate change.

The coalition has been working for over 12 months to organize and strategize with city council members to draft a City Resolution that creates an Energy & Conservation Commission made up of citizens and city staff.

The goal of the Commission will be to:

1) Create a baseline study of the city's current energy uses

2) Set goals to reduce the amount of energy used by the city

3) Formulate a plan to reach that goal
