LWV Montana 2019 Convention

LWV Bozeman hosted the 2019 LWVMT Convention. The convention's theme was "Diversity in Democracy", following in the National League's commitment to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI), and the newly developed DEI policy. LWVMT President Nancy Leifer gave the Keynote Address on the League's direction for the upcoming year, including DEI. Attendees watched a video on DEI, and participated in a small group discussion of White Privilege.

Guest speakers included Aaron Johnson and Sesar Bonillo, from the Montana Migrant Council, who spoke on challenges of farm workers in Montana, and Marena Mahto, a Native American activist who spoke on Native American Election & Justice Issues.

The Bozeman League provided outstanding food and entertainment, and members from Missoula, Helena, Bozeman and Billings shared activities and projects they embarked on over the past year. New LWV Montana Board Members were elected.
